I research the hard parts and ship the whole thing.

I'm Ignacio Pastore Benaim, a bioengineer turned AI/ML engineer. I like to say I research the hard parts and ship the whole thing.

I started in bioengineering at ITBA in Buenos Aires, and kept following my curiosity into machine learning and computer vision — which led me to a Master of Engineering in Robotics, Graphics and Computer Vision at the University of Zaragoza. Today I build the data function end to end: research, data engineering, modeling, visualization, and turning all of it into decisions people use.

What ties my path together isn't a single domain, it's a way of working. I learn a new field fast, get my hands into the real, messy data, and build something that actually works. I've done that in medical imaging, sports analytics, omics, agriculture and robotics.

I'm warm and curious by nature, and happiest when a genuinely hard problem meets a real user.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Ignacio Pastore Benaim?

Ignacio Pastore Benaim is a bioengineer turned AI/ML engineer based in Zaragoza, Spain. He researches computer vision and SLAM for a medical device at the ROPERT group of the University of Zaragoza (the EU-funded EndoCartoScope project) and is the founder of Cronolix, a data-and-insights platform for football scouting. His path spans medical imaging, sports analytics, omics, agriculture and robotics, always taking problems from research to production.

What does Ignacio build?

At Cronolix he builds, end to end, the data-and-insights function of a football scouting platform: ingestion of event and tracking data, scoring and percentiles by role and league, visualization and decision-support reports. At the University of Zaragoza he adapts deep-learning matchers for a colonoscopy SLAM (the EndoCartoScope project). And this very portfolio is an AI system: a RAG chatbot over his experience with Gemini, embeddings, and self-hosted Postgres + pgvector, served by a Hono API.

What is he looking for?

Roles where he can build and scale a data-and-insights function and turn data into decisions — especially in sports analytics (his terrain with Cronolix), but also health, biotech, or any team with a hard problem and real data. He cares more about the team and the problem than the vertical: he picks up new domains fast.
